Comments:This site brings back mostly good memories for me. Corby is notorious for being a sh.tty place to live, but compared to most places I've lived it's paradise in some ways. I'll be back to visit this year.

Comments:I left Corby in 1981, and could tell even then that the place was going downhill fast. I am amazed there are people talking about 'the good old days' - I truly feel sorry for young people who think Corby is no better or worse than anywhere else. Get yourself a reasonable education and better yourself elsewhere. Great site by the way!!

Comments:Ive lived in Corby all my life and i really dont see why people have such a bad perception! Yea granted it does have its skanky looking parts but hey....doesnt everywhere! I havent long got back from visiting my Unlce in Glasgow and some of the areas there truely scared the crap out of me! I dont think Corby is half as bad as them areas! Even in the bad bits of Corby!

And as for telling people to run for the hills and get out and get an education...alotta people do. All of my friends bar one have gone to uni and love it...but they still love coming home...cus at the end of the day...Corby is home.

The kids here arent little Sh**s because they have nothing else to do....they are just that way because thats just the way they are...there is no excuse! Theres kids in London in top schools who still have crap attitudes! And there is loads to do in big cities! Its just the way places are....everywhere is like it. It has its good bits and bad....its good people and complete little shi*s.

Comments:I'm in Iraq on Operation Telic 10. I getted bombed every day and night and yet i'm not looking foward to getting back to Corby

I hate the place and the only reason i come back from my Army barracks is becouse my family doesn't want to move. They have lived there there whole lives and have just got used to it.

I'm fed up of coming home at weekends and for my leave and going to the pubs of Corby and people starting fights. I should be respected as a soldier fighting for OUR country.

The younger generation make me sick and I'm only 21 myself but i'm married with a son of 2 years and am making something of my life. GET A GRIP THE PEOPLE OF CORBY

Comments:Hi, I have lived in Corby all my life (15 years) and I am one of the youth there, its not as bad as everyone says anymore and stop blaming it on anyone or anything in Corby from now on because the government does care with the amount of money and effort they have put into Corby.

Comments:I left Corby at 16 and joined the merchant navy. I travelled the world and saw things from abject poverty to super rich. I have lived in Liverpool, London and Portsmouth but In my opinion Corby is no worse or better than anywhere else I have been. It is where I was born and probably where i will remain. Yes there have been many bad decisions made by local goverment and yes there are a number of undesireable people but they are in the minority. The vast majority are hard working decent people and proven to be the most genorous. I have noticed that many people who pass judgement on Corby dont live in the town and probably have never been in the town. There are also those that knock Corby but work here. All in all Corby is a decent place and is moving on and upwards.

Comments:Hi Everyone I lived in Corby as a kid from 1968 -1972 when we emigrated to Oz. Mum used to work at Exeter Infants' School, which I also attended. Dad worked at kettering hospital, and also worked part time at The Golden Cockerel ( is it still there ?) and a menswear shop called Roadknights. Have visited Corby in 1993,98, 2000 and 2005. Sad to see the town in a bit of a decline. Cheers.

Comments:This poor town of Corby, which grew so quickly at a time when houses were built so badly - with their paper thin walls, their rat run alleyways, which of course was the strange design statement of the kingswood estate. Tell you what would be a good idea.....new housing - new town centre - new swimming pool would be nice - perhaps we could run to a new race track - a covered area to play tennis - a proper sports centre.....you`re going to say "someones already done it" yes they have....and that`s more than alot of towns have........we could have a boating lake - we could have a covered skate boarding place (that would be good) - we could have lots of trees and green stuff - if we were really lucky, we could have a castle just down the road......and - I know this sounds daft - but what about a cube.........one day soon, people will flock to Corby and they`ll be saying how lucky we are to live here.......good luck and good wishes from theoldgal.

Comments:I lived in Corby untill i was 16 and i always had the impresion that things were better when i was a kid. there was a sense of community that i dont seem to have come across in any other city. ashame, because its not the people of corby who are to blame for downfall of a once great town. I never felt like the local council did much to improve it. you can say that there a few twats that let it down , ie the chavs of this town, but we get that in glasgow too. the town centre seems to be better, but too little late i think. i enjoyed me childhood days in corby , now when i go back i just get annoyed at the little it has improved. ashame....
