Comments:Born and bred in Corby I would not live anywhere else. Ive seen a lot of changes in my 56yrs, some not to good. People are great - some youths need to learn respect, (same everywhere) The people who live here dont let the town down blame the government and and industry because of the lack of good investment. Greedy employers who make big profits but pay low wages reducing our standard of living. Retailers are just as bad they are ignoring our retail requirements. We have to travel to spend and that was something which never happened before the Works shut down. If you wanted to spend £100 on a pair of shoes you couldn't do it in Corby. We are deprived of a night time economy through the lack of investment. So don't blame us we are doing the best we can with what we got. A big Hi to all you ex pats somebody somewhere still remembers you.

Comments:Enjoyed this site immensely. Brought back many a fond memory till I left Corby in 1972 aged 18. Anyone remember my dad Andy McGhee? Worked in the coke ovens and frequented the Shire Horse.

Comments:Born and Bred in Corby - I love my town and the people in it! I have great child-hood memories. I get really annoyed when I hear people slagging it off, especially when the town is good enough for these people to work in!

Comments:Just wondered if any one reads the newspapers or watches the tv? If so, you will see that Corby has the same problems as everywhere else. I have lived in Oxford, Winchester, Southampton and various other towns and cities, and yet i have come home to Corby. All places have good and bad parts, good and bad people.I was born and brought up in this town, received a very good education and have a degree. I have never been arrested, nor have I been mugged or spat on in Corby, which according to some opinions(!) would appear to be a daily occurance. I wonder how many people are just led by the opinions of others, and enjoy trying to put down a town they know nothing about?

Comments:Worked in Corby for CCI factory in 2005-2006. I can say that Corby was a decent place to live, I really feel sorry for all the people who treated foreigners as they did, but I found friends as well. Many best wishes for taxi drivers Steve and Mick (they are twin brothers), hope that they got themselves a decent cab :-) and all the CCI crew, nevermind all those 12 hour nightshifts and the hard work, we had much to talk and laugh about. That small period of my life still makes me smile when I think of it. What was really shocking for me - teenagers behavior, I've never seen so much disrespect for older people and drug addiction. Seems like they don't really think about future. I really hope to visit Corby in future and now it seems more easy with a new trainstation. All the best from Estonia

Comments:Corby is on the verge of opening a new swimming pool, next year the Cube opens, there is a brand new railway station to travel to London, Oakley vale is a modern place to live, and the town is getting better every day. What are you all moaning about.Compared to where we moved from....flats, flats, flats, airhostesses on every corner and no decent shops, and motorway queues,no thanks.

Go right, then right again, then right again, then right - you'll end up back at KFC - ask them, they might know.

Comments:Does anyone have photos of the "chain" of buckets that brought iron ore from Desborough to Corby. As a child I used see these massive towers taking iron ore to Corby steelworks?

You mean this:

Bucket

If you Google East Carlton Park you might find more, if that's what you mean.

Comments:I was born and raised in Corby and the town was a great place to live in.I left to work and live in Lowestoft so that i could get into the offshore industry. Having lived in Lowestoft for 15 years then you really appreciate how friendly the people are in Corby. Corby will always be a town that people condemn because unless you live there and are involved with the great crack that the people have you will never understand the place. Look at all those Kettering bastards that run the town down. They don't know Corby cos they were to frightened to come and have a look. I lived in the old village and went to the boys school on Rockie Road. Anybody remember me ? if so then drop me a line. My nickname in them days was Barrel. Corby is the BEST and don't talk back.

Comments:I see you haven't had any recent comments on your page, maybe it's because everybody is quiet now as Corby is now thriving. I must say I was offended by your biast pictures and comments showing Corby in a very bad light, I've lived here all my 28 years and it's been good to me and my family and friends. Maybe think about changing your snaps and get some more up to date ones on here, show some pride in your home town!!!

By all means, offer some pictures yourself and I'll put them up. I personally won't be updating this site further.
